Wonder Woman 1984 Review {Spoilers}

Wonder Woman 1984 released on December 25th 2020. It was a long awaited movie and our family watched it that very night on Hulu. (Edit it was on HBO Max 🤦🏼‍♀️)

While I’ve never watched the original show I’ve been a huge fan of Wonder Woman since the first movie released in 2017. I will admit, I was curious as to how several things were going to happen in this movie and most of all of Steve Trevor ( Chris Pine) could possibly be back!

When I googled it this is the basic plot line of Wonder Woman 1984

 Diana Prince lives quietly among mortals in the vibrant, sleek 1980s -- an era of excess driven by the pursuit of having it all. Though she's come into her full powers, she maintains a low profile by curating ancient artifacts, and only performing heroic acts incognito. But soon, Diana will have to muster all of her strength, wisdom and courage as she finds herself squaring off against Maxwell Lord and the Cheetah, a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility”

Now, back to the review.

In the movie there is a wishing stone and if you make one wish while holding the stone then your wish is granted.

One guy jokingly wishes for a coffee (and his wish is granted)

Diana ( Gal Gadot) wishes for her one true love

Barbara Minerva ( Kristen Wiig) wishes to be like Diana

And Maxwell Lord ( Pedro Pascal)... wishes to become the stone.

Two of these people don’t think their wish will come true but... while Diana is attending a party someone she doesn’t recognize ( Kristoffer Polaha ) comes up to her and says what Steve Trevor’s last words were to her. She realizes her wish has come true and they go on a walk together. Steve woke up in this persons body and immediately begun looking for Diana. He is in awe of all the new technology and everything that has changed since 1917, understandably.

I don’t want to recap the entire movie because if you haven’t seen then this will ruin it but with one little hint to whet your appetite. When a wish is granted it will then take the thing you hold most dear for some it’s their humanity, others their strength. will Diana be forced to give up the one thing she’s asked for all those years?

Without a doubt Wonder Woman 1984 is a classic superhero movie. One thing I’ve always loved about Wonder Woman is that she shows the strength of compassion.

The only thing that I wished was different was that cheetah would have been an ally instead of having two villains.

Truly an exquisite movie.

Filled with action, romance, some twists and turns that you most definitely didn’t see coming the entire family is sure to love it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars

Parental Warning: while more family friendly then most superhero shows there is some language as while as a scene of a couple waking up in bed kissing. Easily muted/skipped if you look up where it is.
