10 Classic Family-Friendly TV Shows You Need To Watch

1. Little House On The Prairie
This is hands-down one of my favorite tv-shows of all time. I can still quote many episodes to you to this day.  I've had the pleasure of interviewing Dean Butler (who portrayed Almanzo) and Wendi Lou Lee (one of the actresses who portrayed Grace) and they are just as nice in real life as you would hope they'd be!

2. Andy Griffith Show
If this classic show wasn't on the list you'd know something was amiss. Travel back in time to Mayberry when things were better and life was simpler.

3. The Danny Thomas Show/Make Room For Daddy
This show will always be a favorite. Danny Thomas was one of the most likable guys to ever be on television as well as one fo the most funny. He had a heart of gold and his show featured many of the most well-known talents of the time period (The episode with Dean Martin is a MUST-SEE).
A perfect show for your children o watch with you as well since the lessons in this are ones they won't get from modern shows.

4. Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Mysteries
This show gave life to two of my favorite series as a kid. The Nancy Drew Mysteries and The Hardy Boys Mysteries. They don't completely follow the books and some of the humor is quirky but you'll love it.

5. The Dick Van Dyke Show
Dick Van Dyke in my opinion is one of the best comedians of all time. He's funny, without being stupid and that is a big thing for me. Sure the humor is occasionally overdone on this show but rarely enough to bother me. You'll also love the rest of this talented cast.

6. Wanted Dead Or Alive
This was a highly underrated show and is mostly known for the sole fact that Steve McQueen was the lead but it was one of my favorite shows growing up. Despite it not being as popular as other western series its still one of the best!

7. Tales Of Wells Fargo
This is yet another western that most people don't seem have to seen and yet it's very well done! Starring Dale Robertson as a Wells Fargo Agent traveling across the old west and catching bad guys again another one that your family is sure to love.

8. Ellery Queen
When most people hear the name Hutton they think Timothy(and while I think he's very talented), I first think of his father Jim who portrayed the quirky detective Ellery Queen in this old tv series. My sisters and I used to watch this together and try to outsmart one of the greatest fictional detectives of all time.

9. Get Smart
This show is one were the humor is so overdone its actually funny. Normally not my kind of show but these two talented leads managed to pull it off... For 5 seasons!!
(Watch the episodes with Hymie, they are the best of the show)

10. Scarecrow And Mrs King
Featuring an all star cast this show has loads of humor and mystery and quite honestly a little bit of everything.
This is the only show on this list that you won't want to show your younger kids. There's some occasional innuendo and swearing.
