The Way of the Brave by Susan May Warren | Review

Received Susan May Warren's new release, "The Way of the Brave".  It has been awhile since I read one of her books, so I was pretty excited to get started on this one.  I really enjoy Search and Rescue storylines, as well as canine Search and Rescue and this new book is the first in a Global Search and Rescue series.

In "The Way of the Brave", you will meet Jenny Calhoun and Orion Starr, who have a past with each other.  Orion, yes that is his name and it took some time to get used to it, is having issues in the present with a past rescue that went wrong.  Jenny is trying to escape the guilt she feels from green-lighting the mission that went wrong.  Although it is not her fault, she can not escape feeling responsible.

Jenny and two of her friends each year take a challenging vacation together to climb a mountain.  This year they chose to climb Denali in Alaska.  Her group ends up getting lost and Orion and some friends, one of whom runs a Search and Rescue group, head in to try and rescue the lost climbers.  Orion and Jenny have to work through their past and put those issues aside to save their friends.

By the end of the story, you will see where a couple other storylines might come from.  Be sure to [pick up "The Way of the Brave" and read Jenny and Orion's story.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
