The Art of Friendship by Kim Weir | Review

The Art of Friendship by Kim Weir is about creating friendships and keeping them.  I am sure all of us can look back on our life and remember people who were once close friends, but that now we have lost touch with.  Today it is far too easy for people to have "friends" online, but not have any close friends in the offline world.  We need to learn to cultivate deep, meaningful relationships rather than just surface friendships.  That is exactly what this book teaches you to do.

I read a fiction book not too long ago, where one of the characters carefully chose their friends, and believed that it was only possible to have a certain amount of close friends.  I think that is true, as does this author, Kim Weir.  She mentions how many people today, even with all their internet connections are lonely and how loneliness is actually a risk to our health.  In the Art of Friendship she teaches about and encourages us to build those deep, ;lasting relationships.  She of course encourages us to discover the Lord as our best friend.

Each chapter ends with questions and things to think on about our relationships.  This would be a good study to do with a friend.
