Moments With Mercy- Interview With Kate Isaac!

Hey, friends!

A little bit back I had posted that I would be interviewing the enchanting Kate Isaac, and here it is!
I first heard of Kate back when she appeared on When Calls The Heart.  A few cast members had posted about her joining, and Ruth Hill of My Devotional Thoughts had done an interview with her (which was spectacular, by the way).  I was intrigued by her role on WCTH, as well as what I had seen of her on social media, so I reached out last month to see if she would be willing to do an interview.  She graciously agreed, and here we are. :)

I could go on and on about how talented Kate is, but I'll just get started with the interview.

Mercy: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Kate: "I’m an Australian born Canadian, which means I’m really good at confusing people! I am a mom and a wife and a daughter and a friend. I act for a living but also run a children’s product company that will launch in fall. More on that when it’s public. But safe to say, I am SUPER excited to show y’all!"

Mercy: What started your interest in acting?
Kate: "My parents are really creative people. They are both amazing singers, (my mother is also a brilliant writer) and from a young age they took me to see everything form theatre, to musicals to opera, ballets and symphonies. I guess the creative bug got under my skin!"

Mercy: How did you hear about WCTH and what was your favorite part of your role as Eleanor Roberts?
Kate: "WCTH has been a buzz show in Vancouver for a long time now, so I knew all about the show and its characters long before I was cast as Eleanor Roberts. My husband is also an actor and played a role on WCTH in season 2.  The best part about playing Eleanor? Hmmmm… You mean aside from the beautiful costumes, amazing vehicle, fantastic cast and crew and great director? It was figuring out who Eleanor was and why she was that way. Heart broken and alone, I do believe ultimately (despite bad choices) she just wants to feel happy and successful again after the heart break of losing her husband. Perhaps she needs some good friends and a loving town to help get her back on track?!"

Mercy: What are your favorite things about living and working in Vancouver?
Kate: "I met my love here and our son was born here, so they are the best things about Vancouver as far as I am concerned! But as an aside, the topography in British Columbia is breathtaking. Mountain air and sea breezes are hard to beat! And the creative industry here together with its people are wonderful. I’m lucky to live here that's for sure!"

Mercy: Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming role on Chesapeake Shores?
Kate: "Hmmm. Well, I don’t want to give anything away… but I will say my character is nothing at all like Eleanor Roberts! I really am over the moon about being cast on Chesapeake Shores."

Mercy: Without any spoilers, what can we look forward to seeing in season 3 of Chesapeake Shores?
Kate: "Love. Love and a little heartbreak. But mostly love. And O’Brien shenanigans, of course!"

Mercy: What is something most people don’t know about you?
Kate: "Well if I told you, then everyone would know! Lol. I have had three near-death experiences in my lifetime. First as an infant, then as a child, then as a teenager. Very scary to think back on, but I guess I’m meant to be here, so I best work hard!"

Mercy: What do you like to do in your free time?
Kate: "Free time? What exactly is free time? Does that exist when you’re a parent? 😉 I love to bake. And read. And write. And take dance classes. And go for long walks with my guys. I don’t get to do all of those things often, so when I do, that time is precious and well spent."

Mercy: Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
Kate: "I’m actually working on a series of projects that I can’t discuss publicly just yet. Stay tuned though!"

Kate, thank you so much for taking time to do this interview.  It was a pleasure getting to chat with you and I wish you the best in all you do!
Readers, I hope you enjoyed!  While I've enjoyed interviewing each and every person I've had the chance to, certain people will forever stand out as highlights and Kate is one of those few.  She is one of the most kind, gracious, and talented actresses I've interviewed, and one I will definitely continue to support as much as possible.

I would encourage you all to click the links below and follow Kate on social media.  You definitely want to keep up with her and her work!
