Review of Celtic Thunder- Live And Unplugged!

Hey y'all!

As you all know I am a huge Celtic Thunder fan, and I am so excited to be sharing my review of their "Live and Unplugged" dvd with you guys!

The lineup for this fantastic dvd is George Donaldson, Ryan Kelly, Keith Harkin, Colm Keegan, Emmet Cahill, and Neil Byrne.

Now I do have to admit, when I received this dvd I did not realize that it was actually a benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy victims!  It was a pleasant surprise, and one of my favorite features of this particular dvd was that they all got a chance to share their favorite parts of helping out while there.  It adds a human touch, and I loved seeing their enthusiasm for the volunteer work.

As you can tell from the title- "Live and Unplugged", this was a live concert.  Another one of my favorite parts of this is how up close and personal it is.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the staged productions they do (and always will), but I also really liked the casual and relaxed atmosphere to this production.

Here is the setlist.

1. "Mo GHILE Mear, Hail The Herd"
2. "The Mountains Of Mourne"
3. "Red Rose Cafe"
4. "Steal Away"
5. "My Brown Eyed Girl"
6. "Black Velvet Band"
7. "Ride On"
8. "Clancy Brothers Medley"
9. "My Irish Molly O"
10. "The Galway Girl"
11. "She's Always A Woman"
12. "Home"
13. "Cats In The Cradle"
14. "The Homes Of Donegal"
15. "Remember Me (Recuerdame)"
16. "The Streets Of New York"
17. "Seven Drunken Nights"
18. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
19. "Ireland's Call"

1. "My Irish Molly O" is one of my absolute favorites to hear Emmet sing.  It's such a fun little tune and one you'll catch yourself humming after listening to it only a few times!

2. Colm singing "Home" is another favorite.  While I had heard Damien sing this song before, prior to watching this dvd I had no idea Colm sung it.  While both are equally moving versions, it's neat to see how they each add their own touches to it.  Colm's rendition on this dvd is definitely one to remember.

3. George singing, "Cats In The Cradle"...  I CANNOT express enough what a talented singer George was. While I never had the chance to see him live, he will always be one of my favorite members of CT.  My sisters and I constantly listen to his music and this is one of our favorites.

4. "The Clancy Brothers Medley".  All of them join together on this fun song.  If you don't put your hands together on this one, as we like to say, "something ain't right"..  definitely one of those songs that will have the whole family dancing a jig in the living room.  :)

5. Keith does a wonderful job on "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".  It's another one of those songs that will get stuck in your head on repeat all. day. long.

This dvd has very, very quickly become a favorite in my family and one that we'll definitely watch a lot!  It's so fun to watch the interactions of the guys on stage.. little expressions and gestures that show how close they are.  This dvd is filled with fan favorite songs, stories, laughs and much more-- it will become a favorite of yours too!

If you don't have a copy, head on over to Celtic Thunder's website and buy yourself one.  You won't regret it!

Hope you are all having a lovely week, filled with good "craic"!
