The first film I saw Tammy in was "Unleashing Mr. Darcy". I remember really enjoying her role in that movie and admiring her acting.
A couple months later my sister and I sat down and watched "Signed Sealed Delivered - Impossible Dream"... her performance in this movie and the previous SSD movie, "Truth Be Told", really showcase her acting ability.
If you haven't seen any of these films I highly recommend them!!
At Hallmarks TCA event they announced the sequel to "Unleashing Mr. Darcy", "Marrying Mr. Darcy"! They have JUST finished filming this movie and Tammy has been sharing some fun behind the scenes tidbits (if you don't follow her, you're missing out!). "Marrying Mr. Darcy" airs on June 2nd and is definitely a movie you don't want to miss!
And now for the interview!
Mercy: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself
Tammy: I am a Canadian actress from a small town in Manitoba. I’ve been working in the film and tv industry now for over 15 years and have been lucky to have worked all across Canada.
Mercy: What started your interest in acting?
Tammy: My interest in acting started as a kid with performing rope-swing shows with one of my friends in her back yard. But it really began when a new English teacher moved to our town and started a drama club. I joined up and the very first time I stepped on stage, was bitten by the acting bug. I tried to avoid it and went to university to study law but It pulled me back in and the rest is history!
Mercy: What is your favorite part of playing Jenna on Unleashing / Marrying Mr. Darcy?
Tammy: My favourite part of playing Jenna is our fans! You guys made this sequel happen. Thank you for loving and supporting our movies!! I also really love working with my on-screen sister, Cindy Busby. She is so much fun to work with and we literally get to the point where we finish each other’s sentences. We both really care about the movie because we want it to be amazing for you. And, of course, I love working with the rest of the cast, the dogs and such a fabulous crew. We are very lucky because we all get along very well.
Mercy: What is something most people don’t know about you?
Tammy: My eyes change colour - they can be green, blue or grey-ish.
Mercy: What is your favorite role you’ve portrayed in a Hallmark movie?
Tammy: That’s a tough one - I really love playing Jenna because I love romantic comedies but my favorite Hallmark role was playing Randilynn Amidon in Signed Sealed Delivered - Impossible Dream and Truth Be Told. I did a lot of work on that role because it was a character I really wanted to honour. It’s a really special story. It was also really fun getting to be an action hero.

Mercy: What do you do to prepare yourself for a role?
Tammy: It depends on the role. I spend a lot of time reading and re-reading the script and coming up with things to personalize the story for me. I really think about what my character wants and how she is going to go about getting it.
Mercy: Without any spoilers, can you tell us a little bit about Marrying Mr. Darcy?
Tammy: If you liked the first one and you like weddings, you are going to LOVE it!!
Mercy: Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
Tammy: “Marrying Mr. Darcy” airs on June 2, 2018 on the Hallmark Channel. Also, you can currently catch me in Freeform’s new thriller series “Siren” playing Deputy Marissa Staub. It airs on Freeform and Hulu in the USA and in Canada, on ABC Spark Canada and Showcase. I can also be seen in the Netflix and SYFY original series “Ghost Wars” playing Jane and am in the upcoming feature film “A Dog’s Way Home” in theatres January 11, 2019.
Tammy: Thanks so much for featuring me. I loved talking all things “Marrying Mr Darcy” with you!! And please follow me on social media!! I love hearing from you all.
