Moments With Mercy- Interview With Paul Greene!

Hi Hearties!  This is the second time I've had the privilege to interview Paul Greene.
Paul is one of my favorite "Hallmark actors" and one of the actors I respect the most in today's Hollywood industry.

Paul's film credits speak for themselves, so without further introduction, let's get started!

Mercy: What is your favorite part of being on the set of When Calls The Heart?
Paul: One of my favorite parts is being in Canada. But that’s also one of the most challenging parts, as it keeps me away from my family. I am Canadian, and I love Canada.
I also love the magic in Hope Valley. It has a very special feel when you walk down Main Street.

Mercy: How would you like to see Carson’s character evolve?
Paul: Most of my movies I do are romantic comedies, so I would love more comedy opportunities for Carson. That's challenging when he deals with life and death situations, but that would be fun. I enjoy comedy.

Mercy: How long have you been playing the guitar and singing?
Paul: I grew up in church, so I was exposed to music very early. I learned to play the trombone first, then drums, then guitar, then piano.  I had some great teachers and mentors.

Mercy: If someone was going to make your life into a movie, who would play you?
Paul: Daniel Lissing.

Mercy: Who’s the funniest person in the cast of WCTH in real life? Can you share an example?
Paul: Dan and Kavan are always constantly cracking jokes. It’s a tie there. And all three of us together? It is insane. Wait a second.... actually, Martin Cummins and Dan together may even be more nuts. Hard to focus and breathe sometimes, from laughing so hard.

Mercy: What is something you know now that you wish you had known when you first started acting?
Paul: I can read minds now...which I couldn’t at the beginning. JK! I wish I had known to keep it simple.  Remembering to breathe throughout the scenes. And learned how to speed read with full comprehension.

Mercy: Has there ever been a project, script or character that resonated with you or had special meaning?
Paul: I did a documentary in India (and also filmed a big part of it) that I am very proud of. It's called The Highest Pass.

Mercy: Any new projects in the works?
Paul: I am producing a few movies and finalizing deals and scripts now, some exciting projects. Some for Hallmark and also for other studios. One top secret project I would love to share, but sworn to secrecy. ;)

Mercy: Several people asked how you would feel about a Carson/Faith romance...not sure if it’s something you want or can respond to?
Paul: Oh... have... Mercy.... Yes, many folks have asked about Faith and Carson.  I think that would be a fun story to explore.  But it’s always very moment to moment, we never know how things will go. If I knew, I couldn’t tell you. And I don’t know, so I can’t tell you much except Andrea is amazing to work with, a terrific actor, and I always enjoy the work we get to do together.  And, she was so supportive of my Art For ALS event. Love her.

Paul, thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule to do this interview.  As always, it was an honor.  Readers, I hope you enjoyed.  Make sure to follow Paul on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up with his work!

And Hearties, make sure to tune in to Hallmark channel tomorrow even 9/8c for an all new episode of When Calls The Heart!!

Thanks for reading!
~Mercy
