Review And Giveaway of Celtic Thunder X!

Hi, fellow Celtic Thunder fans!

How many of you have heard of Celtic Thunder?   Celtic Thunder is a favorite in my family, so when I was given the chance to review their new show, "X", everyone was thrilled.  We often pull a dvd out and pop it in the player while we're doing a puzzle, playing games, or just to relax and enjoy together.

We've loved the previous shows, and this cd/dvd combo is no exception!
It's filled with such a fun mix of songs such as "I'm a Believer", "Phil The Fluters Ball", "Celebration", etc. Some songs such as "The Streets Of London" that will make you think, and of course we can't forget the powerful ballads like "Without You" and "Crow on the Cradle".

Some people have seen promos for X and have been a little hesitant regarding the content and whether it is "traditional Celtic Thunder" material.  If you are one of those people, PLEASE... do yourself a huge favor and just go buy it!  Yes, they do branch out a little and do a mix of both traditional Irish and retro/nostalgic songs, but they're done with a Celtic Thunder flavor and I absolutely love the outcome.  This has to be one of my all time favorite shows of theirs, and I have already watched it multiple times.

Some of my highlights:
"Phil the Fluter's Ball"- This is such a fun song!  You can tell Emmet throughly enjoys this, and it's neat seeing how he gets into each "character" in the song by changing his tone of voice and facial expressions.
"Without You"- I have to admit that at first I (as I know some of you have) was a little unsure of whether Michael would fit in or not, but you can put your worries to rest.. he fits in very well with the rest of the lads!  I absolutely love his version of this song, and it really showcases his capabilities.
"L-O-V-E" - It's no secret I'm a fan of music from the 40s-60s, so it shouldn't be a surprise that I love Damien's version of this song.
"On The Street Where You Live"- Again, I love this old music. While Vic Damone and the others could definitely sing it, Emmet gives a nod to the days of old while at the same time making this song his own!
"Celebration"- While this is a fun song in and of itself, I loved that they have clips from previous shows up on the screen!  Definitely takes you on a walk down memory lane seeing current and former members remembered.

As I mentioned earlier, I love that in this project they keep with the Celtic Roots but sort of branched out a little.  About halfway through the DVD begins the "Celebration" of their 10 year anniversary.  From the very first song, "Sons of Light" to the very last, "Irelands Call", this dvd is packed with great songs!  Some will make you think, some will make you cry, and you will most definitely laugh!

Congratulations, Celtic Thunder, on 10 years and an amazing new show!
